AN AWARD WINNING COMMERCIAL ANNOUNCER AND COPYWRITER
Beth Hammer began her media career in print advertising after leaving Maryland Institute College of Art. When she moved to Florida, she put her copywriting skills to work in radio, where she wrote, produced and voiced commercials, and won numerous Gold ADDY awards for her work. She continues to produce a radio show each week, and you can listen by following the link to wslr.org. Archives of the program are available. Listening may inspire you to create a commercial that works well with her voice.
There's
a reason they call her "The Velvet Hammer". Partly because of her bass playing, and also to describe the sound of her voice. The name was bestowed on her by her bass teacher over 20 years ago, he said it was her blues name, and it stuck. Her radio show on WSLR-LPFM is entitled Velvet Hammer Blues.
After a few years in radio, she moved to television where she produced a daily - then weekly - talk show, and anchored the news, all the while still writing commercial copy and producing commercial voice-overs. The news department of WINK TV in Fort Myers, Florida decided her voice was too intriguing for a news anchor.
Whether you want the voice to be sophisticated, quiet, raucous, outspoken, or just down to earth, Beth will be happy to create a voice that will delight you for your projects. Want to change the emphasis on a word or phrase? Just ask. Beth is always available to make changes and improvements for you.
